What we discovered through early research was Inefficient and disorganized school management system hampers user experience, lacking functionality for effective class and assignment management. Non-user-friendly interface causes frustration and inefficiency, with limited customization options hindering personalization and adaptability to individual school needs.
To start understanding the big picture and the problem, I examined the big players in the market as well as parallel markets; focusing more specifically on ClassDojo, Schoology, Edulastic, and Google Classroom. I read the user reviews of the various products to get an understanding of what can be improved.
Scalability and Flexibility
Scalability was prioritized, enabling our dashboard to seamlessly handle growing numbers of students and user accounts without compromising
performance.
Additionally, our flexible design allowed educators to customize course modules, assignments, grading systems, and assessments, ensuring alignment with diverse curriculum requirements and teaching methodologies.
Personalization is Key
To make it easier for the user to add family members we will allow the parent to add them through his or her contacts during the onboarding stage.
To understand the pain points I interviewed 10 teachers, 10 students, and 10 system administrators to better understand their challenges in using school dashboards.
Insights from interviews highlighted the need for effective communication channels between students, teachers, and administrators within the dashboard, enabling seamless interaction and support.
Users expressed the desire for personalized learning paths, adaptive assessments, and customizable resources to cater to individual needs and enhance engagement.
